Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with General Rodolphe Haykal, head of the Lebanese Armed Forces, on Tuesday to talk about changes in the regional security environment and ways to strengthen military collaboration during an encounter held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
As per a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haykal was welcomed at GHQ with a ceremonial honor guard composed of an impeccably dressed joint services group when he arrived.
At the gathering, both military commanders discussed issues of common concern, such as regional security trends, defense cooperation, and opportunities to enhance two-way military ties.
The conversations centered around enhancing collaboration in vocational education, organizational connections, and various aspects of military interactions between the defense forces of Pakistan and Lebanon.
Field Marshal Munir emphasized the significance Pakistan places on its long-standing and friendly ties with Lebanon, and affirmed the Pakistani army's dedication to enhancing military collaboration with the Lebanese armed forces.
Commander Haykal commended the expertise and operational skills of the Pakistani military forces and recognized their role in maintaining regional security and participating in global peace initiatives.
The ISPR stated that the visit highlighted the mutual determination of both parties to boost defense collaboration and reinforce organizational connections between the two militaries.
