At least three Nigerian nationals have been detained in India due to their suspected participation in a drug smuggling network.
PUNCH Metro Learned on Wednesday from a report by The New Indian Express that the three Nigerians reportedly entered the nation using medical and tourism visas prior to involvement in illegal drug activities.
As per the report, members of the Anti-Narcotics Unit within the Indian Central Crime Bureau detained the individuals following claims that they acquired the narcotics from a Nigerian national residing in Delhi.
The individuals from Nigeria were listed as Ambemo Victor, aged 37; Chime Moses, 36; and Karikari Ames, 33.
The document mentioned, "The Anti-Drug Division of CCB has detained four individuals, among them three citizens from Nigeria, in connection with two instances of drug trafficking within the city."
The sleuths of ANW confiscated 10.27 kg of MDMA crystals and 2.044 kg of hydroponically grown cannabis valued at approximately Rs 23 crores from the suspect.
Based on an anonymous report, investigators conducted a raid at a residence inside the Madanayakanahalli police jurisdiction and detained the individuals involved.

The suspect entered India using medical and tourism visas. Initial inquiries indicated that they obtained the medications from another Nigerian individual residing in Delhi.

The fourth individual under suspicion, Uchenwa, who is 49 years old, was taken into custody by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.
As per the previous report, authorities retrieved 19 cellphones, one notebook computer, and 18 Indian and global SIM cards from Chinedu, Sunday, and Jules.
