Maniac Snatches Murder Suspect From Police in Narsingdi

Narsingdi, July 2 – An individual suspected of committing murder was reportedly taken away by a group of people after being attacked in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Wednesday afternoon.

The event occurred at Saydabad Gerry Ghat within the char region of Sreenagar union.

The defendant is Selim Mia, aged 45, son of the late Tayeb Uddin from Saydabad village.

As per local reports, Selim faces three charges, which include accusations of homicide, fire-setting, blackmail, theft, and violence.

The authorities detained him during a vehicle stop in the village on Wednesday afternoon as they transported him to the station.

Nevertheless, at Saydabad Ferry Ghat, a group of individuals reportedly assaulted officers using bricks prior to seizing Selim from detention.

Multiple law enforcement officers sustained injuries during the event, according to eyewitnesses.

Dr. Nusrat Jahan Nipa, an assistant surgeon at Raipura Upazila Health Complex, stated that a police officer named Abdul Alim arrived at the hospital in the afternoon for medical care.

Head Officer of Raipura Police Station Md Mujibur Rahman stated that Selim has outstanding arrest warrants in three different cases.

He stated that when officers arrived at Saydabad to apprehend him, locals assembled at the location, allowing the suspect to escape within the crowd.

Nevertheless, The OC refuted claims that any law enforcement officers sustained injuries during the event.
