SK AX and KEPCO Engineering & Construction are driving advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) transformation within the power generation and energy industry. Through the incorporation of AI technologies throughout all stages—ranging from power station planning to upkeep—their objective is to enhance operational effectiveness and focus on international markets amid rising energy needs.
SK AX stated on the 2nd that it entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KEPCO Engineering & Construction regarding collaborative efforts within the power and energy sector. The deal was officially sealed at SK U-Tower located in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where senior leaders from both organizations, such as SK AX CEO Kim Wan Jong and KEPCO Engineering & Construction CEO Kim Tae Gyun, were present to explore detailed partnership initiatives.
As part of this accord, the two firms will progressively introduce AX innovations into various fields including back-end administration and key business sectors like power station planning and maintenance. At first, SK AX's main platforms, 'AiPMO' and 'NPO Agent Builder,' will be implemented to boost KEPCO Engineering & Construction's productivity.
'AiPMO' is an all-inclusive administrative system designed to facilitate artificial intelligence-powered workflows, such as submitting projects, managing timelines and budgets, and conducting risk analyses. It anticipates potential issues beforehand to enhance financial returns. 'NPO Agent Builder,' a no-code AI creation tool, allows staff members to develop and employ AI agents (artificial intelligence helpers) for routine activities like searching through technical documents and reviewing designs.
Companies will also collaboratively create artificial intelligence solutions specifically designed for the power and energy industry. Significantly, they intend to jointly develop an 'Offshore Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Platform' to assist with electricity production prediction and proactive maintenance, aiming strongly at both local and global offshore wind markets.
