Casualties After Russian Strikes in Ukraine

Kyiv, June 8, (dpa/GNA) – Three civilians lost their lives in Ukraine due to bombardments by Russia.

A drone attack in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya resulted in two fatalities, according to the military governor, Ivan Fedorov, who shared this information via Telegram on Monday. Additionally, 23 individuals were allegedly wounded in the assault, with one more person hurt in an unrelated incident.

An industrial town lies approximately 25 kilometers away from the frontline. Within the Sumy area in northeastern Ukraine, a man lost his life due to a Russian strike utilizing mortars and unmanned aerial vehicles, according to Governor Oleh Hryhorov. The individual was cycling through the village of Seredyna-Buda when the incident occurred. This settlement is positioned right along the boundary with Russia.

Authorities in eastern Ukraine stated that at least seven individuals sustained injuries as well. According to Vadim Filashkin, the military administrator of the Donetsk region, three explosive devices targeted the city of Sloviansk. He mentioned that there was destruction affecting government offices, a healthcare center, and multiple homes.

Sloviansk lies just approximately 18 kilometers away from the frontline. Thanks to backing from the West, Ukraine has been resisting a large-scale Russian attack for over four years.
