Insecurity: Pastor Defends the Clergy

ABUJA: With increasing demands on religious leaders to denounce rising instability throughout the nation, Bolaji Idowu, Senior Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, addressed those making such appeals on Thursday.

In a declaration, the respected religious leaders supported Gospel ministers, maintaining that the church has consistently led efforts to stop the violence.

The declaration named seven ministers who were reportedly active in speaking out against the instability within the nation.

These include: Bishop David Oyedepo from Winners Chapel, also known as Living Faith Church, Pastor Yemis Davids of Global Impact Church, Apostle Yemi Iren, and four more individuals.

The declaration mentioned that Bishop Oyedepo has "given powerful prophetic alerts and statements regarding insecurity over many years."

He has challenged the audacity of abductors, urged night-time prayers to prevent disorder, declared condemnation against offenders, and cautioned about possible mass extermination if steps aren't taken.

The declaration further emphasized comments made by Prophet Isa El-Buba criticizing organizations such as Miyetti Alah, while simultaneously providing training to local security forces for the advantage of the public.

As stated, the clergy embody a combination of devoted supplication and act as the nation's voice of rationality.
