June 9 - According to regional authorities, at least four individuals lost their lives and ten more sustained injuries when Russian attacks targeted the northern part of Kharkiv in Ukraine, continuing hostilities between the nations without an early indication of abatement.

Regional Governor of Kharkiv, Oleg Synegubov, stated that the assaults focused on the town of Chuguiv, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, among them a 22-year-old female. He further mentioned that the bombings led to significant harm to public facilities, igniting flames and impacting living areas.
As per Synegubov, not fewer than 18 cars sustained damage during the assault, with the explosion breaking windows and harming the exteriors of multiple high-rise residential structures. Rescue teams were sent to the impacted zones to aid inhabitants and evaluate the level of harm caused.
In another statement, Kharkiv's mayor, Igor Terekhov, stated that ten individuals sustained injuries from attacks targeting the regional center. Information regarding the extent of their wounds was not promptly provided.
Recent assaults occurred just as Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded meetings in London, during which conversations centered around diplomatic initiatives and global backing intended to bring an end to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia that has lasted over four years.
Situated close to the Russian frontier, Kharkiv has been among the areas hit most often by missile, drone, and artillery strikes since Russia began its large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Residential zones have continually faced destruction throughout the war.
As per a UN report published in April, over 15,850 civilian lives have been lost in Ukraine since the conflict began, with experts suggesting the real number may be much greater.
Recent months have seen an increase in Russian assaults, as Ukraine keeps carrying out extended-range drone attacks within Russian borders. Officials from Ukraine state that these actions mainly focus on military and power facilities connected to Russia's ongoing conflict.
