June 1, Pakistan – The United States has urged an immediate end to fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, as a high-ranking U.S. representative stated that the Iran-supported faction needs to cease its strikes before circumstances can be calmed down.

As per an official source, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has recently engaged in talks with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning continued diplomatic initiatives designed to ease hostilities near the Israel-Lebanon frontier.
An official stated that Washington had suggested a plan wherein Hezbollah would stop all attacks against Israel, and Israel would avoid increasing military activities in Beirut. This suggestion is part of larger diplomatic initiatives aimed at avoiding additional intensification of the conflict.
Nevertheless, a U.S. representative voiced dissatisfaction with the reaction from Nabih Berri, a prominent Lebanese politician and supporter of Hezbollah, characterizing it as vague and not beneficial for progressing discussions.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah asserts that Israel must halt its military operations initially prior to any suspension of the group's attacks. This dispute has made it more challenging to achieve a truce and decrease hostilities.
The remarks followed Netanyahu's reaffirmation of his plan to keep up military actions in Lebanon, sparking worries over an expanding confrontation. In reaction to escalating hostilities, France has called for an urgent session of the UN Security Council to address the matter.
A new set of discussions between officials from Israel and Lebanon is planned for Washington on June 2 and 3, even though the two nations do not maintain official diplomatic ties.

As per Lebanon's Ministry of Health, Israeli military actions starting from early March have led to more than 3,400 fatalities and forced over one million individuals to flee their homes.
