July 2 - Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday to talk about issues of common concern, the state of politics in the province, and the current budget session.
The speaker praised the chief minister's work over the past two years, calling it "historic and unmatched," and recognized her effort to launch electric bus services at the district and tehsil levels for the first time in Punjab.
The CM recognized and valued the Speaker's contributions to the Punjab Assembly, highlighting his commendable work in upgrading the assembly and digitalizing its documents. She additionally commended his part in producing high-quality laws and managing the House’s operations with care and effectiveness.
"The main aim is to make sure aid arrives at all residents of Punjab and to elevate the province to higher levels of progress," stated the Chief Minister, who also mentioned that the speed of the government's plan for public services will be increased even more.
The PA speaker stated that the Chief Minister had, for the very first time, guaranteed citizens their constitutional right to cleanliness and an improved environment via the Suthra Punjab campaign. He mentioned that receiving global acknowledgment for both the Suthra Punjab and Apni Chhat Apna Ghar initiatives was a source of honor for Punjab. He noted that the Chief Minister’s achievements were evident in concrete outcomes instead of mere talk, highlighting that her administration has set a benchmark for swift action and effective leadership within the state.
The speaker conveyed assurance that the budget session of the Punjab Assembly would showcase the desires of the citizens and mark yet another significant step forward in the province's progress. He further highlighted the chief minister's efforts aimed at empowering women and youth as groundbreaking, noting that women across Punjab now experienced greater security and younger generations held higher hopes for their future.
