Several blasts were reported in Kyiv following attacks by Russian drones and rockets on the Ukrainian capital.
At minimum, five individuals were hurt when Russian drones and missiles struck homes in Kyiv, as part of a larger series of Russian assaults throughout the night targeting the Ukrainian capital.
Numerous blasts could be heard, with several fires raging throughout the city, according to eyewitnesses.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, mentioned via Telegram that the rooftop of a hotel was ablaze along the main Shevchenko Boulevard.
In a subsequent update, Klitschko mentioned that Kyiv was also subjected to a ballistic missile strike.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that intelligence assessments suggested a significant attack could occur soon, prompting him to shorten his time in Dublin.

Russian drone and missile strikes occurred following previous Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow during the week.
And this Ukrainian drone strike occurred just under two weeks following the nation's targeting of a significant oil refinery in the Moscow area, marking the largest drone attack on the Russian capital since the beginning of the full-scale conflict in 2022.
Throughout the conflict, Russia has attacked Ukraine's power plants and other essential infrastructural systems.
But Ukraine is now producing better long-range drones and has hit locations far within Russia.
A recent study conducted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), released on Wednesday, indicated that according to certain figures, more than 90% of Russian losses stemmed from drone strikes instead of direct combat between individuals.
The significant cost borne by Russia in the conflict with Ukraine
A CSIS report indicated that Russian troops experienced roughly 1.4 million combat injuries (including deaths, injured individuals, or those unaccounted for) from February 2022 through June 2026, with an estimated 400,000 to 450,000 deaths occurring within the same timeframe.
Between February 2022 and June 2026, Ukrainian troops experienced anywhere from 525,000 to 625,000 losses—including those killed, injured, or unaccounted for—and had between 125,000 and 150,000 deaths during this period.
This indicates that over two million Russian and Ukrainian troops have died or been injured since the conflict began, marking a somber achievement.
