June 8, Pakistan -- On Sunday, Israel conducted air strikes on the southern neighborhoods of Beirut, claiming the targets were Hezbollah headquarters and operational facilities after reports of rockets being fired into northern Israel.

The most recent surge occurred only a few days following the announcement by the United States, Israel, and Lebanon of an updated truce plan designed to minimize tensions near the Israel-Lebanon frontier. Israeli representatives stated that the attacks were a clear reaction to what they termed breaches of the cease-fire accord.
The Israeli armed forces also shared video depicting soldiers disassembling a structure claimed to have been utilized by Hezbollah for constructing explosive gadgets. As per the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the location held several items capable of being employed in making homemade explosives, such as containers loaded with screws and additional metallic pieces.
Security specialist Nick Reese, who previously worked as a U.S. national security advisor and currently teaches at New York University's Center for Global Affairs, stated that these types of materials are typically linked to anti-personnel bombs created to cause maximum harm. He pointed out that the mix of shrapnel substances along with bigger parts, like what seemed to be propane cylinders, indicated that the site might have been used for various functions in making explosive devices.
The Israeli defense force stated that the mission is aimed at reducing Hezbollah's ability to carry out operations. They further reported that a previous air strike in Lebanon resulted in the death of Abed Harb, who Israel recognized as the head of Hezbollah's engineering division and a key individual responsible for organizing assaults on Israeli troops.
Hizbullah did not promptly acknowledge involvement in the alleged missile attacks targeting northern Israel and remains silent concerning Israel's claims about the explosive materials site.
